*** SCAM ALERT – FAKE NHS COVID-19 VACCINE E-MAIL ***
A fake NHS e-mail has been circulating, telling people they’re eligible to apply for the COVID-19 vaccine.
The URL leads to a copycat NHS website that asks for your personal details, including your bank/card details. When you are invited for your vaccine you WILL NOT be asked for bank details or payment of any kind.
Vaccines are being given to the most vulnerable first. A list of high-priority groups which includes those most at risk of dying is being followed and at present those invited for a vaccine will fall into one of the categories below:
1. Residents in care homes for older adults and their carers
2. 80-year-olds and over and frontline health and social care workers
3. 75-year-olds and over
4. 70-year-olds and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals
Please also forward any scam e-mails to report@phishing.gov.uk for further investigation. If you have lost money, you should tell your bank and report it as a crime to Action Fraud
